The Bee Whisperer – issue 3

I have been asked at various meetings to report on what the season has been like for ‘Queen Breeding’ so here goes…

All of our colonies got off to a flying start and grew very quickly.  The Nucs that we ‘over wintered’ suffered a 50% loss rate.  Note we kept our Nucs exceedingly lean with very little extra food – this was deliberate so that only the strongest survived and therefore our future breeding stock was from a line frugal in winter.  I have done this for three years in a row now for between ten to twenty Nucs. The Bee Whisperer – issue 2

Only a hop skip and a jump from Spring to Summer…. yeay!  Well we are certainly out there – lots of interest in how our bee attitude informs ‘keepers’ old and novice.  Did ya get my Easter joke there?  Beatitudes… bee attitude (sigh!)

Shops stock us, radio stations talk to us, papers print us.  But we want your silly soap sightings!  Take our bars camping or out to sea and shoot a pic.  Send to annie@bigblittleb.co.uk for display on our Facebook page – Big B Little b

Spring at the ‘Big B Little b’ office means one thing… Party!

Yup, we get dead giddy over beeswax soap ‘cos it means we can clean up planet earth as we save it (and that’s nice too) so the vibe is always a happy one here at headquarters.
